Manouche Quartet - Gypsy Swing

**Presented by the Sipplingen Cultural Initiative:** “Quartett Manouche” has been performing for over 20 years with a lineup of professional and semi-professional musicians. The group performs original compositions by Django Reinhardt and contemporary composers. The “Quartett Manouche” transports its audience into the fascinating world of Gypsy swing and brings the unmistakable spirit of the 1940s to life. Inspired by the music of the legendary Django Reinhardt, the musicians combine passion, joy of playing, and virtuoso skill with delicate melodies and the freedom of improvisation. Swing, musette, and Gypsy boleros alternate with charming anecdotes, creating an atmosphere full of lightheartedness, passion, and musical energy. The ensemble performs original compositions by Django Reinhardt as well as chansons, jazz standards, and works by contemporary composers. Their own arrangements and compositions also enrich their diverse repertoire. With Daniel Beurer on lead guitar, Dorian Grama on accordion, Fabian Huger on rhythm guitar, and Peter Westhoff on double bass, they create a captivating sound that combines elegance and joie de vivre.
