During a ball in Volpertshausen, Johann Wolfgang Goethe got to know the young Charlotte Buff better. In his most famous novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther," the renowned poet describes his encounter with the enchanting woman from Wetzlar.
On a tour through Wetzlar's old town, visitors can explore many medieval squares and winding alleys. Following this one-hour city tour, the "young Lotte" is already waiting for the participants. Charlotte Buff will guide them through the Wetzlar old town of the late 18th century. During the tour, she recounts what transpired when the young Goethe spent a summer in Wetzlar to complete an internship at the Imperial Chamber Court.
