Gersbach Pasture Drive Festival

On Sunday, Bergland e.V. Gersbach will once again host the traditional Pasture Festival on the Gersbacher Scherentann, an event that has been attracting many visitors from outside the region for years. The farmers of the Gersbach-Wiesental e.V. Producers’ Association you to the traditional Weidefest on Sunday, September 27! On the idyllic Gersbach plateau, visitors can look forward to a varied program for young and old alike—a festival you won’t want to miss. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a festive church service in the equipment shed. Afterward, the Gersbach Music Association will create a great atmosphere with a traditional morning beer concert. Then the Rohmatt Music Association will take over and provide musical entertainment for the rest of the day. But the Weidefest has much more to offer than just music: For children, there’s a straw bale climbing castle, face painting, an exciting Bulldog obstacle course, a milking cow to try out, and a children’s carousel. The popular animal and machinery show also draws visitors with fascinating insights into agriculture. A special highlight are the Unimog tours, organized by the Unimog Club. At the farmers’ market, regional vendors showcase their fresh products—a perfect opportunity to discover regional delicacies and take them home. Of course, there’s plenty to satisfy your appetite: From hearty specialties to sweet treats, there’s something for every taste. New this year: For the first time, there will be an information booth run by the Producers’ Association. Here, visitors can learn about the association, its values, and its goals. Personal contact with guests is particularly important to the Producers’ Association. At the information booth, the members hope to strike up conversations with visitors, answer questions, and explain the importance of sustainable, local agriculture. After all, each individual’s purchasing decisions have a major impact on the preservation of regional agriculture and the future of our food supply.
