Wool has been one of the most important raw materials in the clothing history of mankind. Starting from 1800, there were significant changes in wool production and processing. In sheep breeding, the breeding of fine-wool Merino sheep became prevalent. This, in turn, led to inventions in the processing industry. Or did the whole story unfold the other way around? And what role does fashion play in this? In five time slices, the interactions between wool production, its technical processing possibilities, and the interest in its use by humans are demonstrated.
During the tour with the curator, there will be insights into the creation of the exhibition and a behind-the-scenes look.
