The Marburg Open-Air Cinema Summer brings great cinema to the Schlosspark stage again this year. Shoe salesman Marty (Timothée Chalamet) has only one goal in life: to become the world champion in table tennis and thus rise to the Olympus of celebrated athletes, to which he has long considered himself already. To participate in a tournament in London, the young New Yorker bets everything on one card, but in the nerve-wracking finale, he has to give way to the Japanese sports star Endo. But that is just the beginning of a man's odyssey who is ready to risk everything for fame and success. After all, Marty's dream is definitely a few sizes too big for his uncle's small shoe store.
