With its concert, the Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the City Band Landau looks across the Atlantic into a world of contrasts, expansiveness, and musical diversity: the so-called New World. The program spans from original American compositions to works shaped by the myth of the “New World.”

From thrilling marches in the style of John Philip Sousa to powerful symphonic works by American composers, a multifaceted sound panorama unfolds. Here, tradition meets modernity, Broadway glamour intersects with jazz elements, and spiritual depth combines with orchestral force.

Characteristic rhythms, dazzling brass fanfares, and lyrical melodies tell of a spirit of freedom and a sense of new beginnings – from pulsating metropolises to vast landscapes between the East and West Coast. Sometimes festive and patriotic, sometimes spirited and entertaining, and then again emotional and contemplative. The concert program showcases the entire spectrum of American-influenced symphonic wind music.
