Eisenstraße 75, 4462 Reichraming

The Kalkalpen National Park is the most significant "forest national park" in the Alps. Since being designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Kalkalpen National Park has been part of a Europe-wide project to protect the last remaining beech primeval forests. These ancient forests, with their diversity of habitats, are a natural treasure. Here, primeval forest species such as the Alpine longhorn beetle and the white-backed woodpecker find a home. Our tour in the Reichraminger Hintergebirge takes us along the Beech Trail from Anzenbach to the Wilden Graben and back. Along the way, we will explore two types of beech forests found in the national park, each with its typical animal and plant life. Meeting point: Parking lot Anzenbach (No. 6), 4462 Reichraming Time & Duration: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, approximately 4 hours (pure walking time about 2.5 hours) Ranger: Martin Dunst, MA Info: Suitable for children aged 10 and up. Free participation in fixed dates with the Pyhrn-Priel Card. Equipment: Weatherproof clothing, hiking boots, rain protection, snacks and drinks, possibly hiking poles.
