Carefully selected songs illustrate and counterpoint the evening's dramaturgy – whether (Jewish) tango or lullaby, whether pop song or (operetta) aria, political song or love ballad, the musical mosaic pieces fill the gaps left by real history. Jewish, Yiddish melodies – Jewish worlds come alive and, in conjunction with the subtly placed texts, create a bridge from the past to the present.
