High above the Danube, in the middle of a dreamy park, lies the enchanting Artstetten Castle, flanked by seven characteristic towers. Here, the memory of heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Duchess Sophie von Hohenberg, who both fell victim to an assassination attempt in Sarajevo in 1914 and found their final resting place here, is preserved.
