Greillenstein Castle in Röhrenbach, Lower Austria, was first mentioned in 1313 as a fortified castle. Its history is considered to be strongly interwoven with the noble family of Kuefstein, in whose possession the castle remains to this day. In the 1960s, it was one of the first castles in the country to be opened to the public as a museum. Today, the magnificent building presents itself to its numerous visitors in a historically grown dress of clear Renaissance and Baroque symbolism. The richly furnished interiors, from the bathing room to the castle dungeon, are best viewed on an exciting guided tour.
