Jagdschloss Mayerling

Visit the Mayerling Carmel in the Vienna Woods, near the Heiligenkreuz Abbey. In the former hunting lodge, Crown Prince Rudolf met his death with 17-year-old Mary Vetsera. An interesting castle and monastery complex with an attractive exhibition commemorates the 1889 tragedy that changed Austria. Today, Carmelite nuns live in Mayerling and pray for all people in need.
