Cross-country skiing courses in the Almtal - Salzkammergut

The Nature Friends Scharnstein have set themselves the goal of making enjoyable and sporty cross-country skiing on our wonderful trails in the Almtal appealing to all members, guests, and residents of the Almtal with their new cross-country skiing department.

Together with the Almtal-Salzkammergut Tourism Association, we are therefore offering courses for beginners and slightly advanced skiers to learn the essential basic techniques in the classic style. Current dates can only be announced after the snow conditions in the valley are known!

Registrations are only accepted at the Almtal Tourism Office of the Traunsee-Almtal Tourism Association. Depending on the snow conditions on the Almtal trail in Scharnstein (entry point at the airfield - parking lot) or the practice trail.

Course participants should register at their discretion as A for beginners or L for slightly advanced skiers by Thursday at 4:00 PM for the upcoming Saturday session. (Announcement of the event location) We require the following information: Name | Phone number | Age | Indication of whether beginner or slightly advanced, and for rental equipment*, height and shoe size.

A second instructor will be provided if there are at least 9 course participants (A or L division). *There is the possibility of renting equipment (cross-country skis, poles, and shoes). This will be provided to us by NMS Scharnstein for a rental fee of €5.00. Those with rental equipment should arrive 15 minutes early! If the snow conditions do not allow for grooming a trail in Scharnstein, the course will be held at the Almsee trail in Grünau in the Almtal or canceled.
