Maypole raising at the woodcutter's farm

A Maypole is a decorated tree trunk that is erected in our region on the eve of May 1st. Often, there is a performance by traditional groups during this event. Especially the stealing of the Maypole is a practiced custom. At night, the Maypole is usually well guarded.
