May concerts of the Linz Municipal Music

Every year in May, the Municipal Music Band opens the event series "Word & Sound," inviting audiences to outdoor concerts in the Botanical Garden of Linz.

The program features a colorful mix of traditional folk music and modern entertainment music.

Look forward to a lovely spring afternoon filled with lively music amidst beautiful nature.

The concerts of the Municipal Music Band take place only in good weather!

Cost: only the entrance fee to the Botanical Garden (€ 4.60, reduced € 3.30; Active Pass € 1.20).

Tickets are sold only on the day of the event.

No seat reservations; limited seating available, please bring your own seating if necessary.

The "Municipal Music Band of the City of Linz" is a municipal music ensemble consisting of nine musicians, led by conductor Christian Pirklbauer, providing an appealing musical backdrop for official city celebrations. Formerly performing as a brass band with around 40 musicians, the Municipal Music Band of Linz has consisted of nine musicians since 2017. The ensemble has been led by Christian Pirklbauer since 2020.

The diverse performances of the Linz Municipal Music Band include openings, groundbreaking and topping-out ceremonies, concerts, farewells of prominent personalities, as well as inaugurations of new buildings and monuments. The Municipal Music Band can also be experienced at the Donaupark Music Pavilion, as well as at events in Linz markets or senior centers, and is a member of the Upper Austria Brass Music Association Linz-City.
