Once upon a time, there were Hansel and Gretel, who got lost in the forest. Now we all know how this well-known fairy tale ends... or do we? Well, it's not that simple, because perhaps the scary stories about the supposedly evil witch in the gingerbread house are not true. And maybe this fairy tale can have a new ending? Let's find out!

In this musical puppet show, the tale of "Hansel and Gretel" is reinterpreted. Based on the opera of the same name by Engelbert Humperdinck, the story comes to life through puppetry and is repeatedly illustrated by musical, dance, and vocal contributions.

The blend of acting, singing, music, dance, and language creates a diverse program that explores the varied talents of the performers. But it's not just the performers who take part: the children will become part of the performance through various interactive activities, ensuring that the musical experiences resonate deeply and leave a unique memory.

The ensemble COFIE – consisting of Cornelia Vorreiter, Sophie Leibetseder, and Flora Schrattenholzer – has been captivating audiences since 2024 with innovative music performances that combine music, movement, and voice. The award-winning artists are graduates and master's students of the Anton Bruckner Private University. After successful performances at the Brucknerhaus Linz, COFIE is currently touring Upper Austria. A young ensemble that enriches the Austrian music scene!
