The Sound of Hans Zimmer & John Williams

Hans Zimmer has achieved something incredible: The German composer worked for decades behind the scenes of Hollywood, remaining largely invisible to the general public – and yet he is now as famous as a rock star. His outstanding soundtracks have contributed to many films becoming blockbusters: from "The Lion King" to "Gladiator," "Interstellar," and "Dune."

Only one living film composer is as famous as he is: the great John Williams. The American has been nominated for the Oscar an astonishing 54 times – winning the award five times – and there is probably no more famous melody in the entire history of film than his fanfare for "Star Wars." These two composers have created a wealth of brilliant music that everyone knows, evoking nostalgic memories in film viewers – and generating strong emotions even without moving images.

So it is no surprise that "The Sound of Hans Zimmer & John Williams" has been a crowd-puller for years, filling concert halls in the German-speaking world. Now the project is entering its next round with a new program – featuring new musical highlights, orchestral power, and nostalgic daydreams that make film history audible.

The program will be hosted by Daniel Boschmann (Sat.1). With fascinating background stories, surprising facts, and entertaining anecdotes, he will allow the audience to dive even deeper into the magical sound worlds of Hans Zimmer and John Williams.
