Advent under the lime tree

Once again this year, the "Advent of the Villages" invites you to discover the small, atmospheric Advent markets in the Fuschlsee region.

The "Advent under the lime tree" in Faistenau is also part of this special series of events and enchants its guests in an atmospheric setting under the 1000-year-old lime tree.

The "Advent under the lime tree" is always organised by Faistenau businesses, clubs and artists on the 3rd weekend in Advent. Advent stroll not Advent hustle and bustle, promises this now traditional event.

Little lambs bleat in the living nativity scene, copper kettles, fireplaces and lights illuminate the village square and create a romantic atmosphere. This Advent weekend is musically framed by the music students and teachers of the MUSIKUM HOF. Idyllic wooden huts with a selection of lovingly selected gift ideas, fair trade products, fragrant gingerbread, Kletzenbrot, homemade biscuits, roasted almonds, farmhouse bread, chocolate fruits, jacket potatoes, Engerlpunsch and mulled wine as well as many other Christmas and traditional delicacies invite you to browse, savour and linger. Something very special about Advent under the lime tree is the popular Christmas exhibition organised by the Faistenau creative platform in the middle school. Over 20 creative people from all artistic disciplines show and sell their work. There are Christmas artefacts, sculptures, paintings, woodwork, ceramics, glass art, nature photography, textile art and much more. A nativity scene exhibition by the Faistenau primary school children rounds off the programme.

The blacksmith moulds personalised lucky horseshoes and a Christmas tree for Christmas Eve can be chosen right away. The Advent workshop is also back this year. Here, originally designed wooden belts, wooden bags and unique gift items made from the natural product WOOD are on offer, and you can also watch the wood turner at work. While the children make Christmas decorations and presents in the varied children's programme, parents can do their Christmas shopping in peace and quiet and stroll through the Advent market. A shepherds' play and choir from the primary school in the parish church on Saturday at 5 pm and free horse-drawn sleigh rides make the visit unforgettable for the little guests too.
