TOURDATA

Domplatz 1, 4020 Linz

Be impressed by the over 40 large stained glass windows in the Mariendom!

These windows not only depict religious themes but also tell the architectural history of the cathedral, as well as the origin stories and legends of many communities and parishes in Upper Austria.

Unique in this ensemble is the wonderful colorfulness of the tower rose window, which is hidden behind the large Rudigier organ and can be reached via the inner gallery at a height of approximately 14 meters.

Take a close look at the impressive stained glass windows of the inner gallery and receive explanations about the creation of these artworks and the painting techniques used.

The windows in the nave and transept were created by the Tyrolean stained glass workshop. The windows of the tower chapels were designed by the Rauhkamp studio. Designs by the artist Karl Martin Hartmann replaced the windows destroyed in the war in the chapel ring.

Please note: The number of participants is limited.

The meeting point for the tour is the DomCenter, located directly at the cathedral square.
