The Long-eared Owl Excursion

The long-eared owl is one of the most common owls in Central Europe. However, it is not so easy to spot them unless you know their roosting trees, like our rangers do.

In the cold season, they can increasingly be found in the settlement areas of the Seewinkel. Those who walk through streets, parks, and cemeteries with open eyes are sure to discover one or another roosting tree of this owl species. Our rangers will not only lead you to the long-eared owl itself – the indigestible food remains, regurgitated as pellets, provide information about the small mammals present in the area.

Registration is required by 12 noon the day before, booking online at: http://www.nationalparkneusiedlersee.at Equipment: Sturdy footwear, warm clothing including a hat, binoculars if available. The tour takes place in all weather conditions. The national park reserves the right to flexibly adjust the content of the tour to the respective weather conditions.
