TOURDATA

Posthofstraße 43, 4020 Linz

An aging gas station bistro at the lowest point in Austria, the Mariana Trench. At 113 meters above sea level, alongside various drinks, the world events wander over the sticky counter: failed barbecue evenings, the inability to drink from an EU-standard buttermilk carton, hardcore heartbreak, and the eternal loyalty to combustion engines in the car country of Austria.

Fueled by melange and apricot schnapps, one soon arrives at the grand concepts: freedom, responsibility, and justice. Power, status, and their symbols. Late at night, the hardened fronts seem to budge not an inch - only the storm front Herta is quickly gaining momentum towards the gas station. And as the water level rises, the once clearly drawn lines in the Mariana Trench begin to blur.

Between dark humor and existential urgency, Maria Muhar slides through an absurd reflection on a time that is hardly graspable. Unless one starts at the lowest point.

Maria Muhar is an author, cabaret artist, and language artist from Vienna. Her texts navigate between fine humor, literary ambition, and sharp everyday observation. With her first solo program "Storno," she captivated both audiences and critics alike and was awarded the 2023 Promotion Prize of the Austrian Cabaret Prize for it. In addition to the stage, she is also successful in literature: her debut novel "Lento Violento" was published by Kremayr-Scheriau in 2022.
