TOURDATA

Am Wur 7, 4582 Spital am Pyhrn

When the ice crystals sparkle on the branches, we experience the magic of winter with all our senses. On our guided snowshoe hikes, you can enjoy physical activity in the fresh air and discover the secrets of winter. Healthy movement: Snowshoeing combines two gentle sports: on one hand, Nordic walking – rhythmic walking with trekking poles, and on the other hand, hiking – in winter conditions. The essential equipment for the tours through deep snow is, of course, the snowshoes themselves. This form of winter activity is rightly gaining popularity. In addition to enjoying nature, you will treat yourself to excellent endurance training with positive effects on your cardiovascular system.

A welcome change: Our experience hikes consciously offer you an attractive alternative to traditional winter sports. Safely guided, you can enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the cold season in a relaxed and cozy manner. Away from the hustle and bustle of the usual slopes, the balancing movement in nature provides relaxation and a break from the everyday routine.

Entry for young and old: Together, we will hike on snowshoes through snow-covered forests, meadows, and over gentle heights. On our family-friendly tours, we impart a wealth of important and useful information about being outdoors in winter. The chosen routes are also well-suited for beginners, and children can participate from the age of 8. Skiing or alpine knowledge is not necessary for participation.

Included services: Professional guidance by a certified outdoor trainer, snowshoes, poles, gaiters. Not included: Transfer costs, additional services (drinks, meals, accommodation, etc.). Attention: The tour can only be booked in the company of at least one child registered in the OÖ Family Card.

Meeting point: Arriving by train is easy. The Spital am Pyhrn train station is a 5-minute walk from the meeting point. If you take this option, please inform us in advance – we will arrange a carpool or taxi to the respective starting point of the tour. Depending on the snow conditions, we will start directly at the meeting point. There are plenty of parking spaces available at the meeting point!

Note: During the tour, you will learn important information about winter hiking: proper equipment, dealing with wildlife and forestry, dangers in the snow, and emergency scenarios. This way, you will gain the necessary skills/useful background knowledge for your own adventures. Dress warmly, but in several layers according to the "onion principle." This allows you to adjust your warmth to the conditions at any time. A hat and gloves: These will keep your body parts warm, as a large part of heat is lost through them. Sun and cold protection for all exposed body parts (face, nose, ears). A good pair of sunglasses is especially important in winter! Wear waterproof yet breathable shoes with good insulation: mountain boots or winter boots with good grip are suitable. Pack enough to drink, as fluid loss is significant during strenuous activities. Insulated drinking systems make it particularly easy to drink on the go.
