Content

Der Blöde Dritte Mittwoch presents positions of the contemporary avant-garde in an informal setting for a broad audience in the form of a monthly event series. It particularly focuses on the genres of (experimental) music, media art, performance, video, and related art forms. Artistic direction: Anat Stainberg, Arnold Haberl (aka noid). The name of the series, Der Blöde Dritte Mittwoch, refers to the book Blödmaschinen by Markus Metz and Georg Seeßlen, whose insightful and engaged critique of the cultural dynamics of neoliberalism still resonates with Der Blöde Dritte Mittwoch. Aside from that, the name is easy to remember. The part "Dritte Mittwoch" in the name refers to the preferred event date.

Biographies

Vincent Pongracz
Clarinetist and composer Vincent Pongracz is primarily known for his work with his projects Synesthetic4 and Synesthetic Octet, and for his distinctive and idiosyncratic musical language associated with these formations, which navigates between experimental hip hop, jazz, and contemporary music.

LAMPALZER/OPPERMANN
LAMPALZER/OPPERMANN demonstrate the laws of marginal phenomena, failures, coincidences, and their metamorphoses into poetry-capable material. In their new lecture, Der Mond. Von A bis Z., they move searchingly and gulping, with ship and edge track, snakes and frogs, and a heap of letters from the Southern Hemisphere to the North.

So Sner
So Sner’s critically acclaimed debut album REIME (2022) was celebrated for its innovative fusion of bass clarinet and electronic sounds in unexpected and surprising ways. With The Well, the duo explores both fluid and dissonant sonic landscapes, embracing different structural and sonic challenges. The result is a quieter, more introspective set of compositions than many might have anticipated. The album is a statement of two confident collaborators crafting complex, spatial musical moments in their own distinct manner. With its sparse sound architecture, The Well invites listeners into a space of effective emptiness, offering room for the mind and body to explore—a sonic island where one can develop sensuality through patient movement.
