Improvisational theater at the highest level – entertainment can't be more spontaneous! This is SPORT VOR ORT, Vienna's legendary improv comedy show. Two teams of the best improv performers in Austria compete against each other in a fierce contest, vying for the audience's favor. Characters are quickly and cleverly created on the spot, stories are improvised, punchlines are invented, and unique moments of emotion and laughter are crafted. The repertoire ranges from short sketches to complex storytelling, from heart-wrenching love songs to grand musicals. The audience votes for the team that has improvised better, faster, and funnier, ultimately crowning the winners of the evening. Exactly eighteen years after its premiere, the successful format SPORT VOR ORT has arrived at the STADTSAAL! Since 2007, the show has been a regular monthly feature at TAG – Theater an der Gumpendorfer Straße and has been nearly always sold out. On March 30, 2025, the last edition of SPORT VOR ORT will take place at TAG, to celebrate its revamped rebirth as the city's most legendary improv comedy show on May 18, 2025, at the STADTSAAL.
