The Christmas Story - The Teatro Christmas Musical

Let yourself and your family be enchanted by this unique musical adaptation of Charles Dickens and experience a captivating production that has been newly revised this year, bringing the bitter Ebenezer Scrooge and many familiar characters from the Christmas classic to life. The swirling dance spirits, the poor, warm-hearted family of Laureen, the cheerful niece and employee of Mr. Scrooge, and the infamous ghosts of the three Christmases—all of them transport you to a magical world where a life filled with sorrow is reinvented to make room for love, joy, and gratitude.

20 extraordinarily talented professionals, including youth and children (most from our own talent workshop) as well as adult stage performers like the passionate musical actor Peter Faerber, will surprise, enchant, and captivate on stage. Artistic director Norberto Bertassi guarantees, as always, to do everything possible to make the hearts of the audience soar. This year, there will also be fantastic costumes designed by the gifted costume designer Brigitte Huber, great-granddaughter of Gustav Klimt.

Teatro is also increasingly making a name for itself as a talent incubator. In exciting news, teatro is thrilled that a long-time member, Moritz Mausser from Baden, has deservedly landed a lead role at the Vereinigte Bühnen, where he plays Falco in the musical "Rock me Amadeus." The adult Scrooge this year will be portrayed by the promising teatro actor Nicolas Vinzenz, who is the next exceptional teatro performer after Moritz Mausser, studying at MUK Vienna for a year to embark on a great career. David Mannhart will continue to embody the spirit of Christmas present, a role he has skillfully brought to life in recent years. He became well-known in 2021 as a finalist on the successful ORF show Starmania.
