Pettersson and Findus - Folk Theater

"Findus has three birthdays a year. Simply because it's more fun that way." (Sven Nordqvist) Pettersson lives contentedly on his farm, surrounded by his chaos, his inventions, and his ten chickens. He is doing well. No one tells him what to do or what to refrain from. Even though he sometimes feels a bit lonely and would really like to have a conversation. But it's too late for marriage. He should have done that many years ago. One day, a neighbor brings him a box labeled "Findus' Green Peas." Inside: a little kitten. And this kitten turns Pettersson's life upside down. Because Findus is not only very lively and curious – he can also talk. The adventures of Pettersson and Findus made the Swedish author and illustrator Sven Nordqvist world-famous. Picture books, audio plays, songs, cartoons, and film adaptations – there is nothing that doesn't exist about the funny Findus and the quirky Pettersson. They have also become indispensable on theater stages... The special thing about the stories and adventures that the old man and the cat experience is the principle of live and let live. Findus repeatedly puts the old man in uncomfortable and unusual situations. And he takes it all in stride, smiling calmly, sorting everything out – but not without paying attention to himself and his own limits. Needs-oriented education made easy. Or better: the perfect example of guidance rather than education. However – and this is the art of it – it is still told with poetry and lightness for the little ones.
