One day before the Christmas vacation in Mauritius, Kati decides: "I want to get married... and: I want a child!" Her boyfriend is not on board, and she is annoyed because "that can't be a problem." But he stands firm. Mauritius is off the table, and Kati quickly heads to her sister Luiserl's place to spend Christmas in the countryside with her and her family. But there is no sign of the longed-for tranquility... "Where is he?" - Grandma can't find the marjoram but still manages to "do Christmas" on her own. "If only Papale could see this..." she dreams and assures: "I won't complain, I've never complained!" Luiserl seeks refuge from Grandma's "big, fat goose" in alcohol, and Lilibet treats herself to "two tiny little egg liqueurs." Hansi, the "man of the house," asks once more: "Are you decorating the stupid tree or not?" Torn between wife, mother, and mother-in-law, he ultimately decides: "One humiliation follows the next." Sissy panics and confesses: "Lilibet, the rat is gone!" and Gregor demands: "Carps have a right to life too!" In the end, the Christmas tree catches fire, and a rat sits in the manger.
