An institution in the Austrian music scene is celebrating its 20th anniversary. 5/8erl in Ehr'n has made perhaps the coziest and most laid-back contribution to Austropop with their WIENER SOUL. It started as an insider tip with groovy dialect songs and references to the Viennese song tradition, but soon, with their first hit SIASSE TSCHICK, they moved towards FM4 and pop culture. The band's oeuvre is diverse, just like their audience. Their song BADESCHLUSS is the comforting, melancholic closing song in Vienna's baths and made the band legendary, from Schafbergbad to Gänsehäufel. The chorus of VAPORIZER is sung with the same confidence in Berlin as it is in Graz. "As if Stevie Wonder had smoked a Sachertorte!" is how it’s described on Bayerischer Rundfunk. A lively evening is guaranteed, showcasing the full range of the band: from heartfelt ballads to comedic burlesques.
