ABOUT THE CONCERT
"One grows with Bach, constantly, steadily; one changes as a pianist, but also as a person, while the music changes under one's fingers," says Kateryna Titova, for whom Bach was formative in childhood and who sees him as an essential foundation of her technique. She continues: "Despite all the strict rules and the clear architecture, there is nothing more personal than Bach." Perhaps this is one of the main reasons why numerous legendary pianists have redefined "their" Bach and opened up new sound worlds with magnificent, respectful arrangements. Starting from Bach's original works in the "Italian style," Kateryna Titova leads us into new, unexpected sound worlds with arrangements of popular Bach works.
