For over 40 years on stage, every member of the ensemble a distinguished top musician, it would be easy to label the group Blechschaden as "well-established and unmatched." But that is only one side of the brass (players) medal; the other, for which they are loved by their loyal fanbase, is their tireless commitment to extracting the fun side of music while absurdly challenging any attempt to strictly differentiate between high art and popular music. The world-renowned "fun faction" of the Munich Philharmonic demonstrates with each of their performances that any type of music, whether pop or opera, musical or classical symphony, can become enjoyable if presented correctly, that is, unconventionally.

In their new program for the 2025 tour, the philharmonic "foreign legionnaires" mix various musical genres into a highly entertaining cocktail of melodies, garnished with hilarious commentary and interludes. Especially their Scottish conductor Bob Ross generously dips into the humor box in a decidedly un-Scottish way. Whether it’s "Classical, but with Humor" ("Nessun dorma" from Puccini's opera "Turandot"), musical hits "in brass" ("I Don’t Know How to Love Him" from Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar"), or a suddenly orchestral pop anthem ("Earth, Wind and Blechschaden Fire"): Amidst all the serious professionalism with which the musicians master their instruments, one thing remains at the forefront for Blechschaden: to provide the audience with fun around and about the music. Can this be done in Bavaria without Bavarian elements? Of course not! So something hearty like the "Steingadener Musikantenmarsch" must also be included.

The Münchner Merkur aptly described the ensemble's extraordinary ability, led by its founder Bob Ross, to combine musical perfection with top-notch entertainment: "Blechschaden means the perfect dissolution of all boundaries between high and low art," and the Neue Westfälische Zeitung summarized a Blechschaden concert in golden words: "'We are the Champions' resonates symphonically compact throughout the space – indeed, they are, and the encores from 'Rocky' to a lively Irish round dance are also top-notch – no wonder they have already won the 'Echo Klassik' twice."

But enough words have been exchanged; now let us finally hear some action: "Blechschaden" is back live on tour – you shouldn't miss this humorous excursion into the world of music!
