On their big anniversary tour, they not only have decades of musical history in their luggage - but also a new musical director. Alexander Wurz is leading the Egerländer tradition into the future with a fresh sound and his own signature style. And even if the "Original Egerländer Musikanten" are constantly reinventing themselves, the orchestra stands like no other for musical continuity, precision craftsmanship and brass music of the very highest calibre.Since its foundation by Ernst Mosch in 1956, the "Original Egerländer Musikanten" have made a name for themselves worldwide. Mosch characterised the typical, emotional and at the same time swinging sound. Over the last 25 years, Ernst Hutter has led the orchestra into the 21st century with his own arrangements and a new generation of soloists, paving the way with "his Egerländer", his perseverance and his visions for the enthusiasm for brass music that can be felt everywhere in all generations today. Now the next step follows with Alexander Wurz: the 39-year-old tenor horn player and conductor, himself part of the orchestra for 15 years, was chosen by Ernst Hutter as his successor. With him, the ensemble remains true to its line - and at the same time has fully arrived in the here and now.Wurz is doing what Mosch and Hutter did before him: Wurz is doing what Mosch and Hutter did before him: developing the orchestra with a feeling for tradition, providing new impetus - and carrying the music into the future with passion.
