Edvard Grieg held Robert Schumann in high regard and admired his romances and piano pieces. Thus, Schumann's Piano Concerto served as a major inspiration for Grieg's own A minor concerto. In the piano concerto, Grieg's significance as a Norwegian composer becomes evident, as he expresses national characteristics particularly strongly. The piano part is considered a challenge that requires immense virtuosity. The internationally acclaimed Japanese pianist Yoko Kikuchi will captivate Villach with her impressive talent and virtuosity. Since winning the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, the artist has built a global career and is among the undisputed greats of the piano.
