"West Side Story"

It is one of the most famous musical theater works of all time, telling a story that has resonated since Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet": Two people love each other but are not allowed to be happy together.

Tony is a Jet, a member of a gang of white American teenagers led by his best friend Riff. Maria's brother Bernardo is the leader of the Sharks, a gang of Puerto Rican immigrants. The Jets challenge the Sharks to a "rumble" – a fight – to settle a territorial dispute once and for all. Maria and Tony meet and fall in love at first sight. Tony tries to end the fight, but Bernardo stabs Riff. Tony avenges his best friend's death by killing Bernardo, the brother of his beloved. Maria, who still loves Tony, agrees to run away with him. But Tony receives a false message stating that Maria is dead...
