Carla Pires has one of the most beautiful and impressive voices in the Fado scene. As the new "Queen of Fado," she established herself in Portugal in 2004 when she signed a contract with the record label and artist agency Ocarina Music. To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of their successful collaboration, her fifth album "VaiVem" was released. With her highly demanding approach to the complex theme of Fado, Carla Pires has created a unique signature. The artist seemingly effortlessly adapts this ancient music tradition with a light and modern, almost transparent cloak, incorporating barely noticeable jazzy and world music accents.
After a celebrated concert tour through France, Spain, Austria, and Algeria in 2008, Carla Pires gained international recognition as a Fado singer. Since then, she has been constantly touring, entertaining enthusiastic audiences in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. On stage, supported by excellent musicians and her distinctive sound, Carla Pires captivates with her strong presence and the power and talent to engage her audience. She is a magnificent singer with a unique voice that carries the essence of Fado and its special feeling through remarkable musical roots.
