KREIML & SAMURAI ALBUM RELEASE SHOW ARENA
Something is about to happen again, as the two Obertachin rappers Kreiml & Samurai will present their latest work in the Arena and draw deeply from their extensive repertoire of songs for a very special show. With the "Schweinehund" (a term for a lazy or procrastinating side) as their emblem, these two rappers, connected by true friendship, have elevated procrastination to an art form and have been releasing track after track for years. After all, a lot comes from nothing. Or everything.
The Austrian hip-hop scene is hardly imaginable without Kreiml & Samurai. With their humor and inimitable charm, the Viennese duo has won a place in the hearts of an audience beyond the rap bubble in recent years. They know how to celebrate well, and their music is quite infectious in this regard. But there has always been more to it.
A closer look reveals: At the core of the Schweinehund lies a certain grumpiness towards this world and the way things are going here. The conditions are often unbearable. Or simply ridiculous, as sung in their 2013 title of the same name. Kreiml & Samurai owe their uniqueness in the local pop circus to numbers like this one or "Das Alte Liedchen," "Der Wiener," and the anti-anthem "Oh Du mein Österreich," where they convey a clear stance. And they do so with a sense for the right punchline at the right moment, without annoying people with platitudes and being dogmatic.
