Heinz Marecek - Coffeehouse was everywhere

Audience favorite Heinz Marecek celebrates his 80th birthday with a new program titled "Coffeehouse Was Everywhere," allowing the uncrowned grandmaster of humor, Friedrich Torberg, with whom he was very close friends, to have his say extensively. In his inimitable style, Marecek portrays the life of the author, as well as the lovable quirky characters from his stories, who always have a punchline ready for any life situation.

Torberg was already a distinctive brand in Austrian literature during his lifetime. If one seeks entertaining works full of bon mots and witty anecdotes that often exude the much-quoted Jewish humor as well as the Viennese charm, one first turns to the books of the great coffeehouse writer.
