OPERA AND OPERETTA GALA

The Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Wels has developed into a high-level ensemble, especially over the last 20 years, with its concerts being among the special cultural events. The artistic and organizational leadership is in the hands of Walter Rescheneder (since 1971) and Martina Franke (president since 2019). The "Welser Symphoniker" are a resounding business card for the city of Wels.

The Upper Austrian Katharina Linhard studied in Vienna and was most recently heard as the innkeeper in the Benatzky operetta "Im weißen Rössl" at the Operetta Festival in Bad Hall. The Brazilian Alexandre Bianque is a member of the opera studio of the Landestheater Linz and studies at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz. The Wels native Benedikt Dinkhauser is a member of the Vienna Philharmonic and began his artistic career at the music school in Wels.
