For over a decade, she has been on stage with the same band - a collective that now plays so intricately intertwined that each note almost organically emerges from the other. For "Goodbye Small Head," her current and now tenth album, the ensemble dares more than ever before: eight songs are carried by a string quartet, electronic details set unusual accents, and yet this familiar, direct energy continually breaks through.
