Live Report by Pascal Violo
CANADA & ALASKA - Into the Wild
Canada and Alaska – synonymous with wild nature, freedom, and adventure, with encounters with bears, moose, whales, and dancing northern lights. In search of untouched wilderness, travel journalist Pascal Violo explores the Rocky Mountains and Denali National Park. With a small propeller plane, he circles the peak of the "coldest mountain in the world." Together with his family, Violo navigates the Inside Passage on a sailboat, a deserted archipelago in southeastern Alaska.

As a river nomad, Pascal Violo paddles 800 km through the eternal forests of Canada along the Yukon, the longest free-flowing river in the world. After an adventurous encounter with a bear at his tent, he finally reaches Dawson City and explores the history of the gold miners around Jack London. At a Pow Wow, Violo experiences the fascinating world of indigenous cultures and immerses himself in colorful dances and rituals. At the end of his expeditions, a highlight awaits him in the Arctic at Hudson Bay: the travel photographer observes polar bears up close and understands the fragile connection between humans and nature.
