The winter event highlight from the Almtal, "Der Kasberg kocht" (The Kasberg Cooks), will take place again in the winter season 2025/26 and will pamper you on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with culinary delights, music, and top slopes. Together with the hut hosts from Kasberg, cooking will take place on this day at Kasberg.
For the ninth time, the ski gourmet experience will be held in the family ski area located in the heart of Upper Austria's Salzkammergut.

This way, the winter culinary experience at Kasberg can begin relaxed, without annoying traffic jams and parking searches. Public transport to the 9th Hut Gourmet Tour at Kasberg is just as diverse as the program presented for March 7, 2026. In addition to culinary and musical highlights, Kasberg is also well connected to the public transport network (accessible by train from Linz or Wels to Grünau and the ski bus lines 533 and 534). Additionally, the Kasberg Winter Shuttle will take you for free from Laakirchen via Scharnstein, Bahnhof Grünau directly to the valley station of the Kasberg ski area, as well as the mentioned OÖVV bus lines from Gmunden via St. Konrad and Grünau. With the Almtalbahn coming from Wels and Linz, you have the option to transfer to the Winter Shuttle at Bahnhof Grünau. Here’s how to get from Linz or Wels to "Der Kasberg kocht":
From Linz HBF directly at 7:22 AM to Grünau im Almtal, arrival at 8:55 AM, connection to the bus at 9:00 AM, or for those who want to sleep a little longer, departure at 8:26 AM with Westbahn or at 8:30 AM with the ÖBB Railjet to Wels, transfer to the Almtalbahn, departure at 8:50 AM in Wels, arrival in Grünau im Almtal at 9:55 AM. Connection with the Kasberg Winter Shuttle at 10:00 AM to the valley station. Here’s how to get back home:
Kasberg Winter Shuttle at 4:50 PM to Bahnhof Grünau im Almtal, with the Almtalbahn at 5:07 PM to Wels, transfer to the Railjet, and you’ll be in Linz by 6:30 PM. The Kasberg Winter Shuttle continues via Scharnstein to Laakirchen. Special ride of the Kasberg Winter Shuttle at around 7:48 PM to Bahnhof Grünau im Almtal, with the Almtalbahn at 8:07 PM to Wels, transfer to the Railjet, and you’ll be in Linz by 9:30 PM. After that, there is still the option to use Taxi Nussbaumer at +43 664 4568379!
