Kohelet 3 is music from Eastern Europe, excitingly interpreted by Bohdan and Ewa Hanushevsky. In their new formation, Kohelet West, they dedicate themselves to the folk songs and roots music of North America. Born on the US East Coast to Ukrainian immigrant parents, Bohdan has celebrated the music of Eastern Europe throughout his life. Together with his wife Ewa, they have been the leading couple of the Kohelet 3 ensemble for three decades. However, Bohdan has never forgotten the musical roots of his American youth. In the Kohelet West project, Bohdan swaps the accordion for the guitar and, together with Ewa and other musical friends and companions, focuses on the folk songs and roots music of North America. Bohdan's English-language original compositions revolve around the big questions of life, playfully, melancholically, and meditatively. In his idiosyncratic interpretations of legendary songs that inspired him as a young man, Bohdan looks back to the West.
