Bummelkasten's music videos are clicked thousands of times daily. The Berlin-based one-man band has comfortably settled into the German children's music shelves with their completely mouth-made debut album "Irgendwas Bestimmtes" and is euphorically delighting children, parents, and non-parents alike. Their songs create a pull that is hard to resist. No wonder: This poppy a cappella beatbox sound—with its intricate arrangements and playful vocal and musical elements—comes across as wonderfully unpolished and entertaining, and it has no equal even within the children's genre. With sophisticated lyrics and quirky humor, Bummelkasten stretches far beyond the conventional, exploring artistic new territory.

"Could you please come!?" – the often-used, politely softened phrase of many guardians is presented in the song of the same name so insistently and is met with an infantile "Yaaahaa" so often that it almost hurts. In "Wandern," a sinfully laid-back song about, well, hiking, the themes of nature and media consumption merge. But it is primarily Bummelkasten's quirky characters that bring joy to children: Max, the escalator-riding toilet paper thief; Susi, the toughest of all princesses who loves to grill pony sausage and drives to the bakery in a monster truck; Shiny, the light fairy who treats herself to a trip through the solar system but quickly gets fed up with each planet she visits; and Bulli Battmann, a nasty schoolyard terror who cries into his pillow at night, or janitor Klaus, the smartest janitor ever.

Since the first Lollapalooza festival in Berlin, Bummelkasten has been the resident highlight of "Kidzapalooza," the family-oriented offshoot that runs concurrently. He performs casually from his chair during stage appearances. Alongside the humorously performed songs, it is especially his loop station segments that provide great fun.

So take your sticky fingers off the sofa, take off your non-slip socks, and go to the bathroom one more time: Bummelkasten is in town!
