Natural Proximity – Linz's Hidden Aura

In the central region of Upper Austria, valuable near-natural biotopes and ecosystems have been preserved in some floodplain areas to this day. In intensively used and densely populated regions not far from the state capital Linz, significant and often hidden gems of largely unaffected nature can be found.

With his nature photographs, Rupert Kogler aims to make this largely untouched nature visually accessible to as many people as possible and to bring its immeasurable value back into public consciousness.

The photographic intention is primarily aesthetic, as a purely documentary representation, for example of species, often falls short without conveying atmosphere, mood, and emotions.

Rupert Kogler works professionally as a nature photographer and has been exploring the floodplain areas around Linz for thirteen years. His photographs have received numerous international awards. Additionally, he works as a ranger in Austrian national parks, allowing him to express his ambitions through photography.
