54th International Wolfgangsee Run

On October 18, 2026, there will be four main events for everyone, offering the personally optimal distance (5.2 / 10 / 27 / 42.195 km). The nature route, which runs largely directly along the lake, offers everything that experience, enjoyment, and performance runners appreciate.

54th International Wolfgangsee Run "Around Lake Wolfgang" The 5.2 km panoramic run is perfect for beginners (starting in Strobl).

Additionally, the flat 10 km lakeside run between Gschwendt and St. Wolfgang is on the program. Access to both runs is by boat (included in the entry fee).

The classic at Lake Wolfgang remains the 27 km lakeside loop – being run for the 53rd time. With the passage over Falkenstein (220 meters of elevation gain) and countless uniquely scenic sections, such as in Fürberg and Abersee, the initial insider tip has turned into the legend of the Wolfgangsee Run.

Since 2011, the running offer has been rounded off with the Salzkammergut Marathon over the classic 42.195 km distance. After starting in the imperial town of Bad Ischl and a roughly 15 km "warm-up," participants follow the original loop of the 27 km classic around Lake Wolfgang. Participants unanimously remarked after the first two editions (both on brilliantly beautiful autumn days): "42.195 challenging kilometers – a landscape and enjoyment marathon of the highest class with enormous potential."

Triple Overture on Saturday Already on Saturday, October 17, 2026, the sporting "overture" begins with two events. Completely accessible to all, the "5th Walk the Lake" takes place at 9:00 AM, starting and finishing at the "Brunnwind" venue in St. Gilgen, inviting both walkers and Nordic walkers alike. Due to the very positive response last year, four distances are available this year: 8.5 km (St. Gilgen – St. Wolfgang Town Hall); 14 km (St. Gilgen – TVB Strobl); 18.5 km (St. Gilgen – Gschwendt Boat Station); 27 km (St. Gilgen – St. Gilgen).

In the afternoon, the youth of the years 2011 and younger (depending on the age group, 200–1,200 m) will participate in the 16th Junior Marathon along the picturesque lakeside promenade in Strobl. Last but not least, in the evening from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Pacher-Haus St. Wolfgang, "Griaß Eich" will take place with live music, awards, information, and a large photo show including a pasta party.
