Insect safari between lions and elephants in Namibia

Biologists Martin and Jonathan Schwarz study insects and recently went on a research trip to Namibia! Their focus is on bees, wasps, and beetles, but the two researchers also encountered various other animals. In total, they found, prepared, sorted, and brought back over 7,200 insects to the Biodiversity Center in Linz. Here, work is now being done on their identification, and for previously unknown species, on scientific descriptions. Colleagues in various countries are also assisting with these investigations, and the insects will embark on another journey.
