Sebastian Holecek, a sought-after opera star and concert singer, performed during his studies at the music conservatory in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In 1990/1991, he was engaged at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, where he sang roles such as Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Harlequin. Since that engagement, he has performed at opera houses around the world, including the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, in Paris, Munich, Beijing, New York, Cape Town, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Turin, Naples, London, Tel Aviv, Prague, and Stuttgart. In 2006, he became a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Volksoper. Sebastian Holecek has a wide-ranging repertoire: Jochanaan (Salome), the title role in Gesualdo, Heerrufer (Lohengrin), Schaunard (La Bohème), as well as the title role in Il Prigioniero, Masetto (Don Giovanni), Escamillo (Carmen), Caspar (Der Freischütz), Giorgio Germont (La Traviata), and Scarpia. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 1994, singing roles such as Fléville (Andrea Chénier), Peter Besenbinder (Hänsel und Gretel), Harlequin, Papageno, Christian (Ballo in maschera), Count Dominik (Arabella), Marullo (Rigoletto), Don Fernando (Fidelio), and the Ghost Messenger (Die Frau ohne Schatten). Bass-baritone Sebastian Holecek will be accompanied at Schloss Halbturn by the internationally acclaimed conductor and concert pianist Jimmy CB Chiang. The exclusive concert evening will take the audience in Halbturn on a journey from Italy to Vienna – featuring highlights from opera and operetta – from the "Te Deum" in "Tosca" to "Brüderlein Fein" from the operetta "Die Fledermaus."
