Opportunity makes love, thinks Minister Richard Willey and arranges a romantic tête-à-tête with an opposition secretary in a suite at the Hotel Dom. But fate is not kind to him. However, it is much kinder to the audience, who laugh along as Richard spirals into chaos. He tries, in a wildly absurd and literally neck-breaking manner, to hide his failed affair from his wife, a suspicious hotel manager, and not least from a frequently unconscious detective.
