Maundy Thursday is the day before Good Friday and is one of the three holy days in the narrower sense. On this day, Christian churches commemorate the Last Supper of Jesus with the twelve apostles on the eve of his crucifixion. From the Gloria song during the Maundy Thursday service, the bells fall silent until the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night. The altar servers walk through the towns with ratchets to remind the faithful of the prayer times and devotions.
