In Austria's music scene, Anja Obermayer, also known as Anja Om, is an extraordinary voice that cannot be confined by any genre boundaries. This can be verified not only on her debut album from 2022, which consists almost entirely of her vocals. Her love for a cappella sounds has been documented in equally virtuosic and touching – and often award-winning – projects.

Now, Anja Om gathers four exquisite instrumentalists around her. At the same time, she takes a step further in her vocal work, drawing inspiration from famous predecessors and colleagues, including songs or song material from Joni Mitchell, Björk, Nina Simone, or Laura Mvula. However, a song from Carinthia can also serve as the basis for a new composition.

The name of the band, Von Dietrich, is derived from the surname of Anja's maternal grandmother. This highly creative woman possessed great artistic talent but never had the space to express herself freely. Thus, Von Dietrich is also understood as a quiet homage to this unfulfilled creativity. Another thought leap can also lead to the "keyless door opener."

Quick transitions between a laid-back club vibe and the exuberant atmosphere of a traditional village festival, between electronica and acoustic roots music: the musical contrasts and their effortless and virtuosic fusion characterize the songs of Ëda Diaz. This is already hinted at by the title of the album "Suave Bruta" ("Gentle Brutal"), which was released in 2024.

Born in Brittany as the daughter of a French seamstress and a Colombian urban planner, Diaz initially studied classical piano. Her holidays in Medellín were filled with traditional music. Above all, her grandmother (immortalized in the song "Nenita") introduced Ëda to Bambuco and Bolero, Cumbia, and Vallenato.
