"Kreitl’n for a good cause" - Herb walk with Michaela Hörl at the Stift Heiligenkreuz

Wild herbs take root where they find the optimal conditions for their individual growth. We humans also need such a home that provides us with support and stability.

By participating in the herbal walk "Kreitl’n für an guad’n Zweck," you will get to know the local nature while simultaneously supporting formerly homeless individuals who have found a home and a job in the social project "VinziRast am Land" in Mayerling/NÖ. Fifty percent of the admission fee goes to this wonderful project.

Herb educator and author Michaela Hörl showcases the diversity of our local nature on the grounds of Stift Heiligenkreuz. During the herbal walk "Kreitl’n für an guad’n Zweck," many processing and application forms of plants, trees, and shrubs for health and well-being will be presented. Small anecdotes from the herb educator's many years of experience, as well as amusing and interesting facts about the customs related to plants, round off this exciting and cozy walk.

Stift Heiligenkreuz is an oasis of strength and invites you to linger even after the herbal walk. The Gregorian choir prayer can be attended for free in the abbey church afterward (12 PM). Additionally, there is a monastery inn and a monastery shop, as well as quiet places for prayer and meditation, and beautiful hiking trails.

About the organizer: Michaela Hörl has been conveying the value of local nature as a herb educator and author for over 10 years. She organizes seminars and herbal walks in the Wienerwald region, leads tours through the gardens of the Kartause Mauerbach, and organizes and directs the charity event "Kreitl’n für an guad’n Zweck" at Stift Heiligenkreuz, which she initiated. She also shares insights for a holistic experience of nature in her popular free online newsletter, the "Jahreskreispost."
