"We all live comfortably in our bubbles and filter bubbles, where it is cozy and warm, we affirm each other in our opinions and viewpoints, and we can be assured – we are right. But what if our perspective is a limited and privileged one? What if we cannot see what others experience every day?"

As a performer and composer, Julia Lacherstorfer captivates with her joy of playing, virtuosity, and artistic curiosity, making her an indispensable part of the Austrian music scene, while also regularly appearing on international stages.

In the Lacherstorfer household in Upper Austria's Traunviertel, the buzzing of the hurdy-gurdy played by her father, the clattering of her mother's spinning wheel, and the urgent accordion playing of her grandfather quickly become familiar sounds that shape Julia's childhood. But it is not only the local traditions that are woven into the family's daily life. In her father's extensive record collection, a musically rich and diverse cosmos reveals itself, which she gradually makes her own.

With the ensembles "Alma" and "Ramsch und Rosen," which she founded, Lacherstorfer fulfills a long-held wish after her jazz studies. Together with them, she dedicates herself to the reinterpretation of traditional aspects in Austrian and European folk music, without excluding the present. Her new project "Nachbarin (a diverse narrative)" is a transcultural music project that translates different life realities into music, using the craft of dialogical interviews, composition, film, and photography.

Cast: Julia Lacherstorfer: Violin, synth, harmonium, voice; Sophie Abraham: Cello, voice; Miriam Adefris: Harp, voice; Lukas Froschauer: Sound direction.
